Blessing the least of these

Soccer balls, picture frames and ginger bread cookies. It looks like a Pinterest list. But it’s actually the list of gifts we chose to give to our gypsy club members this Christmas.
Our club team of 10 gathered together on a cold December 22 to make preparations. We had also decided to have a cookout with hotdogs, pickles, bread and cookies. So we set up the grill and a table and went to work.
The trash piles, smell and mud seemed to be overwhelming that day. But we managed to clear out a space for preparing food and a small area for a soccer game later.
While one part of the team prepped for the meal, the other part delivered gifts to each club kid. Each kid got a ball, a bag of cookies and a framed collage of club photos. One church in the States had also donated handmade crocheted hats for any small siblings of or club kids.
We also managed to make contact with a family of 5 living in an old train car. We had never visited them there before, but had their daughter in our club for some time. So, it was good to finally locate where they lived.
It was a great honor to bless the poor and outcast that day. We honored and blessed about 25 kids and families. And we are still trusting that God will take our small offering of weekly kids clubs and multiply it to bring light to the gypsies of our city.
